The NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION is a national trade association that serves the electrical construction industry.
NECA’s Mission:
-
-
-
Deliver exceptional value for our members through relentless focus on their success
-
Attract, develop and retain the best talent
-
Collaborate with world-class partners to advance our industry
-
Foster member relationships
Electrical contractors affiliate with NECA’s national organisation and gain access to its programs through membership in their local NECA chapter. Each chapter operates autonomously, selects its own manager and office staff, and determines its own local programs and priorities. Each chapter also serves as the local representative of the regional and national NECA organisation; and the members help decide the national association’s course because each chapter elects a representative to the NECA Board of Governors, the policy-making body that decides issues important to the entire organisation.
NECA’s members are provided services that include business management education, public relations, marketing training, technical information, research and development, communications, labor relations, insurance plans, safety programs and construction industry leadership. While most contractors do not have the resources to achieve this wide range of services individually, it can be accomplished through the collective efforts of all members.
The area electrical contractors obtained a charter as the Northern Illinois Chapter of NECA on October 1, 1964. A predecessor organisation, the Northern Illinois Electrical Contractors Association, was organised on March 29, 1948. The local contractors have long recognized the need for a strong association that can effectively deal with their common problems. Located in Rockford, Illinois, the Northern Illinois Chapter, NECA looks forward to responding to contractor needs in the Northern Illinois area.
